San Antonio Breast Cancer Symposium - Highlights

ADVOCATES PHOTO - SAN ANTONIO BREAST CANCER SYMPOSIUM

Yes we did it in San Antonio, Texas. The Breast Cancer Symposium hosted thousands from all over the Globe. Researchers, Patient Advocates, Clinicians, sponsors, supporters and the like. What an awesome display of the fight, the science and our collective voices. We are definitely better together. Great to finally meet some of our partners in-person. Finally, the real power beyond the pink. A host of Informative sessions, and intrinsic sidebar discussions on everything from ER+ advances, to bio-markers, genome changes and new immuno therapies. An awful lot was learned. What an eventful week, experiencing state of the art technology meet cutting-edge research.

The Advocates showed in numbers. We met Molly MacDonald of the Pink Fund notable for their awesome work of supporting survivors financially during treatment. Some of the amazing young black women from the Breast of Us and Touch The Black Breast Cancer Alliance. My Faulty Gene's Founder and CEO Kathy Baker and Tiah Tomlin-Harris of My Style Matters. While we had partnered with My Density Matters in the past, we finally got to meet Leslie Ferris Yerger, its Founder and her VP Susan LePlae in person. All of these organizations are doing great things. Had the pleasure of connecting with Stacey Tinianov, Founder of ACE (Advocates For Collaborative Education) and a host of others representing solidarity in community, resources, patient and policy advocacy, science and industry. Shout out to Stacey for closing with "From the Trenches"...nice.

This is the largest Breast Cancer Conference and it is put on by Mays Cancer Center at The University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio (UT Health San Antonio), in partnership with the American Association for Cancer Research.
